Depoting Lipsticks

10 Sep

Currently I’ve been on a cleaning frenzy, and the first task was organizing my make-up collection. I decided to depot some of my lipsticks, since they can take up a lot of space, this is an easy and convenient way to store and  carry your lipsticks.

What you’ll need:

  • Candle
  • Matches/Lighter
  • Knife
  • Spoon
  • Labels
  • containers (found on Amazon)
  • lipsticks

Instructions:

First thing you need to do is with the knife cut off the top part of your lipstick. If you don’t want to melt the whole lipstick just cut off a smaller piece. Put the piece of lipstick that you want to melt on your spoon over your lit candle. It only takes about 30 seconds to melt your lipstick, the closer the spoon is to the flame the faster it melts. Once your lipsticks is the consistecy of colored syrup, you can begin to pour the liquid into you small containers. I then proceeded to label the containers with the brand of and name of each lipstick, this part is optional but it comes in handy when you need too replace a color. Repeat these steps with each lipstick until you fill up your palette.

I hope you enjoyed this Depoting Lipsticks DIY, and please post your pictures or comments if you try this.
